THE MEPHISTO CLUB now on sale!

I’m a bundle of nerves.  Like an actress with opening night jitters, I’m anxious to see how MEPHISTO CLUB does on this most important of weeks.  Velocity of sales determines your placement on the bestseller list, and a book’s success relies on having a lot of people buy the book during the very first week.  So my fingers are crossed.  Time to uncork the wine bottle and take some calming breaths.

You might want to yell at the people over at Van Piere in Eindhoven (NL) because I went to check today and they didn’t have it in store.

    They’re eeeevil.

Bought a copy this afternoon from HW Schwartz in Milwaukee. I have to clear one book from my reading list before I begin. I’m also listening to “Vanish” on my iPod during my morning walks. Great incentive to get out there for a long ramble.

    Good luck with “Mephisto Club”.

Tess, tonight on Keith Olbermann’s Countdown at roughly 7:18 pm (central) MSNBC ran an ad for The Mephisto Club. I rarely see commercial spots for books on this show.

    Good luck Tess!

I was in Books-A-Million in Orange Park, Florida today and it wasn’t there yet. 🙁

I’ll try again in a couple days.

Got it today, at about 9:30 am, the store had it on the top shelve with the other “new” releases.

    Can’t wait to read it.

Friends were here tonight to celebrate our annual “Tess Day!” – complete with the usual wine party. Everyone had either their copies or are waiting for their mail.

I’ll have my copy by the end of the week. Oh, and a nice plug on the blog tomorrow.

But, really, you don’t have a thing to worry about. First, how could anyone pass up a Tess Gerritsen book and second, how could they pass one up with such a great title?

Hi, I bought my copy today at Target in Chandler Arizona. It was well displayed at the end of the shelf. Can’t wait to read it. Thanks.

Good luck Tess, though I’m certain it’ll be a lurid success!
The main frustration for me is it won’t be available in the UK for a few more months – worth the wait though.

Thanks thanks thanks for all the scouting out of stores and best wishes! And Craig, I didn’t know they’d be showing TV ads on Olbermann (my favorite TV newscaster)!

Tess, I have a great idea. Since a good number of your books have a one word title anyway, I think you should name a future book “Lurid”. I think that would be great.

Tess, what’s your conservative sales target for the first 12 months? I know you’d like 6 billion (everyone on the planet), but what would be a realistic yet satisfactory number?

My case is really dumb. The first book I read was Vanish, like 4 months ago? The second was The Sinner, third Double Body. I got THE MEPHISTO CLUB like 2 weeks ago and completed it within a night.

Now I’m working on The Apprentice and the bookstore I frequent just called and told me that The Surgeon I ordered has arrived.

I got all the sequence all wrong. But I think it’s okay… I simply love all of them.

    Don’t keep us waiting eh?

Can’t wait to read more about Rizzoli & Isles!!! And also Daniel and Dean. I like these guys…

    Hi Tess –
Just picked up THE MEPHISTO CLUB at my local Barnes & Noble here in Augusta. I’m happy to report your books were displayed on the first octagonal table directly facing the entrance doors; perhaps 8-10 books in the stack; 20% discount sticker too. In fact, the book that had been on the upright display holder had been bought, so I put one on the upright display so it would be much more prominent for future sales! ;D

Now, the dilemma – I want to read this right now. Unfortunately, I’m working this evening and The Book is sitting on my desk, calling my name, tempting me!! Oh no!! (LOL) 😀

So, I’ll be patient for a bit longer (after all, I’ve waited a year for this book, so what’s a few more hours?) and type my reports this evening, then get prepared for the ideal time to indulge myself.

Hope to catch up with you at a book signing soon! Hope this one has great sales numbers for you.

I had a flight out of Boston Logan yesterday. Both Mephisto and Vanish were available in the Hudson News stores in terminal B. I have not had the chance to scout the local Borders and B&N.

On Tuesday I arrived to B&N in Kansas City just as they were unloading your new book. It was about 2 in the afternoon–which I thought was a little late to just be putting it on the shelves. I am really enjoying the mephisto club. I’m starting to get that sad feeling I get when I near the end of a good book because the ride will be over soon. Always look forward to your books, Tess.

Terrific book. I have to admit I jsut recently “discovered” your work. Wow, have i been missing out. I bought the paperback of Vanish and then rushed right out to purchase Mephisto Club. It was so great. I read it in 3 hours. Anyway I am going soon to purchase all of the Jane Rizzoli/Maura Ilsles books. Good luck with the numbers:)

Just finished reading your book. It was fantastic. I only a few weeks ago was referred to your books as I was finding it hard waiting for other authors to print new books and a friend recommended trying one of your books. I have now just finished reading your entire series of Jane Rizzoli/Maura Iisles books within a few weeks and they are all fantastic. Keep writing in this series it is great. Look forward to reading the next installment of Rizzoli and Iisles books. Thanks again for a brilliant read.
