Off to Istanbul

I’m leaving for a much-needed vacation and won’t be blogging for a few weeks.  (Or answering email.)

And to answer a question asked in the comments section –  yes, THE BONE GARDEN will indeed be published in 2007.  Its release date is September 18 (in the U.S.)

If you want to see the cover design, check out my home page!

Enjoy your trip! And make sure you leave that little bastard Gollum at home!!!

Try not to think too much about all of the fabulous New England weather you’re going to miss, either…!

    Have fun!

You are the GREATEST author. My sister, my husband, and me are your biggest fans. I read two of your books in less than 24 hrs. They were “The Sinner” and “Vanish”. Looking forward to read more. Enjoy your vacation!!!

JD waves good bye to Tess as he tunes up his guitar and sings…

    “Istanbul was Constantinople
    Now it’s Istanbul, not Constantinople
Been a long time gone, Constantinople
Now it’s Turkish delight on a moonlit night

    Every gal in Constantinople
    Lives in Istanbul, not Constantinople
So if you’ve a date in Constantinople
    She’ll be waiting in Istanbul

Even old New York was once New Amsterdam
Why they changed it I can’t say
People just liked it better that waaaay!

So take me back to Constantinople
No, you can’t go back to Constantinople
Been a long time gone, Constantinople
Why did Constantinople get the works?
That’s nobody’s business but the Turks..

    Bon voyagey!

And a loverly tune that is, JD. Istanbul (not Constantinople) as recorded by the 4 Lads hit # 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 in the fall of 1953 on the Columbia label–but that’s not why I’m posting. Be on the lookout for Black Magic, a TV Movie (Showtime?) starring Rachel Ward, Judge Reinhold, and Anthony LaPaglia who currently has a respectable job on CBS’ Without A Trace. What we have here is a dead cousin, Anthony, who is a nasty piece of work who is killed by a witch, Rachel. Anthony starts to appear in his cousin’s (Judge’s) dreams and asks him to rectify the situation. The song Istanbul is humming along merrily in this black comedy which I think is very funny as Judge tries to save his cousin, falls in love with Rachel, and realizes that his cousin may not be worth saving after all. Just something to keep us occupied and off the streets until Tess’s return. Incidentally, the action takes place in Istanbul–North Carolina!!! Go to the IMDb for more info. Enjoy!!

I have missed reading about what’s going on in Tess’ head. I can’t wait for you to come back, even though I’m happy you’re taking a break after all the writing, and sleepness nights. 🙂
