    Hi Tess,

I think the real point is to ask if the guardian dog would attack any intruder. I believe that any guardian dog would attack – that’s the reason why one would have such kind of animal. So the letters you got is pure BS.
Return the e-mail asking if the pit bull is likely to go sleep by the intruder’s feet or to show their teeths in a very nasty way.
Or just forget about these boring e-mails.

The ‘Offended’ are everywhere. If an author’s main purpose becomes the pursuit of never upsetting a reader’s sensibility, it’s time for a new line of work. A simple ‘thanks for your comments, much appreciated’ works in every E-mail case. 🙂

Some people just want to complain. I bet that was not the first complaint email. You should never appologize for what you write. If they do not care for it, then they need to not read books because anything can really be taken wrong. It is a fiction novel for crying out loud. I just do not understand some people…

    Tess,

Get a thicker skin. Most of your critics are idiots. I am a fan of American Pit Bull Terriers. As you said in your blog on Murderati, the ones I’ve met have been sweet.

But fact is fact and pits are often used as guard or attack dogs, so fair play to you.

When’s the new Maura and Jane book out? and yes, I do like Maura the best.

You missed an entire population to offend! How dast you! The animal should have been a chihuahua / pit bull / chupacabra hybrid 🙂
