“Mummification 101 with Tess Gerritsen”

A fun article in my local paper. It also has a photo of me and my mom.

Wow, I thought the head was real when I first saw it and I just got to that part in the book and I was stunned.

You and your mother look just alike. You can definitely see the resemblance!

    Hi Tess,

You need to hold up a shrunken head and say “this is your brain on drugs.” Your Mom looks young enough to be your sister. I’m glad you have her with you now. “Coast-to-coast” correspondence is ok, but this is much better.
Enjoy the rest of your tour.

oh, BTW, according to B&N.com, The Keepsake has a sales rank of 20.

I love that local papers can still do fun articles like that. And I agree with Dustin. You look very much like your mom.

Do you or any of the readers remember the kits you could purchase in the 70s to make “shrunken heads” out of apples? They were advertised in comics, usually next to the water babies. LOL! I’ve always loved the cool spooky props, and it sounds as if you’ve got some good ones.

Tess-Now I see where you got the freckles!
We’re still trying to figure where my daughter got hers.
I hope your mom is enjoying Maine-at least she’ll still have the ocean nearby to help the transition from San Diego.

Hey, Tess! You got a chance to see a mummy getting a CT scan? Doctor, what is the prognosis? Hahahahahhahahahahaaaa!!!!!!

Okay. What do you get if you cross a shrinking head with a mummy? Shrink wrap. Hahahahahahhaaa! *almost falls of chair laughing*

Sorry. Couldn’t resist. End of Letterman impersonation.

I love the article. Your mom is a beautiful lady with a bright smile and sparkling eyes! It also looks like you two were having a good time. My best to the lovely Tom ladies!
