Do your looks matter as an author?

Just got home from book tour and am frantically packing for my trip to Egypt. I’ll try to blog here before I leave — but in the meantime, check out my latest blogpost at Murderati.com.

More later…

    Hi Tess,

It doesn’t matter if you look like Quasimoto or Angelina Jolie. Just as long as your brain is working and the thought process carries into your fingers to write (type) your book, I don’t see any difference in what a person looks like. (Although, I would probably ask for an autographed book by Quasimoto by mail. That guy is UGLY!!)
Have a great trip to Egypt. If you get the chance, can you get that peace treaty sewn up? No one else seems to be able to do it. Have fun and get back safely.

    LOL hey Tess,
I suspect that everyone has an image of the author from their writing. I don’t know if it really matters to be honest but in today’s world everyone has to be media savvy to a certain degree and lets face it look’s don’t harm your chances.

I do like the expression “They have a face for Radio.” though. Mind you looking at a lot of the Authors photo’s when you go through either thier books or website and you soon wonder if everyones trying to make themselves look alright (including the guys who are plastered with foundation.)

Women are lucky as its expected, a guy these days doesn’t really have a chance as either he gets labeled or told that he looks rough.

    LOL
